Your technical right hand, wherever the work takes you.

We work with businesses beyond the UK and Europe, including Miami. Our work with Treseles covers gift-shop stocktaking at Karisma resorts in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. The base is Sheffield; the starting point is how your business and its people work.

One technical direction across a distributed business

A business with people in several places still needs someone accountable for its technical direction. We can work alongside the leadership team as a fractional CTO, keep investment linked to business priorities and judge which new capabilities are useful in your domain. We look ahead while keeping the condition of existing systems and the risks of change in view.

Delivery may involve several suppliers, a central office and staff doing practical work in different locations. We establish who owns each decision, where information is recorded and how people raise a problem. A written decision and a clear handover matter when the next person starts work after your day has ended.

Start with the people using the system

For Treseles, the work concerns physical shops and stock locations in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. The stocktaking system is in development with the retail team. It connects the count workflow to Epos Now; the customer’s staff carry out the physical count. The system has to fit the way those staff count, check and reconcile stock.

We get affected staff involved and on board before technology changes. That means listening to local working practices, letting people try the proposed workflow and making time for training. We agree manageable stages around the team’s workload, with feedback and support before extending the change to more people or locations.

Make distance part of the plan

We agree meeting overlap, working language, response arrangements and handovers at the start. We also establish where data and systems are hosted, who grants access and what has to remain within a particular environment. Remote working can cover much of the engagement; any on-site work and travel are discussed and scoped where useful.

An international engagement does not imply around-the-clock cover. Leadership time, delivery milestones and support responsibilities have explicit terms. New systems and implementation are separately priced from ongoing Technical Oversight, and maintenance or incident response requires its own agreed care scope.

The operation comes first

Different locations create different practical constraints. These examples show how we work with the people who know the job and connect the software to their operation.

Make the practical details explicit

  1. 1

    Map the operation

Identify the teams, sites, systems and suppliers involved, and where decisions or handovers are delayed.

  2. 2

    Agree the role and overlap

Set the leadership or project scope, meeting times, access and commercial terms. Establish how work moves between people in different time zones.

  3. 3

    Try it with the team

Involve the people doing the job before changing their tools. Test a useful part of the workflow, provide support and expand at a pace the operation can absorb.

Questions

Which international locations does your work include?
Our experience includes Miami in the United States, Switzerland and Norway, as well as the UK. The Treseles resort retail work covers the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.
Are you based in Miami or the Caribbean?
We are based in Sheffield. Those are locations where we work with clients and their operations. We agree remote collaboration and any travel around the engagement.
Can you support teams in different time zones?
We agree suitable overlap for meetings, written handovers and a practical delivery schedule. Support hours and response commitments are explicit in the care agreement; global reach is not a promise of 24-hour availability.
Can we begin with one location or workflow?
Yes. A defined first piece of work lets staff try the approach and gives everyone evidence before expanding it. We plan the rollout with the affected teams and quote additional implementation separately.
