Stocktaking for resort gift shops

The business

Our client is Treseles, which works in gift-shop retail at Karisma resorts. The stocktaking work covers shops and stock locations in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.

A resort shop has to account for more than what is on its shelves. Goods move through warehouses, storage and transit locations before reaching customers. A useful stocktake needs to reflect that operation.

Our work

We are working with the retail team on a stocktaking system connected to Epos Now, bringing the physical count and the stock records together. A scanner interface handles the count, with an administrator view for reviewing it.

The work includes understanding the locations and the people doing the count, connecting to the existing retail system, and developing the software around how the operation works. Shops and storage locations each need to be accounted for, with a record of the count and the reasons for missing stock.

The stocktaking system is in development with the retail team.

We get to know the operation and work with the people responsible for it, so technical decisions follow the needs of the business. Implementation has its own agreed scope and commercial terms.
